USING WEB-BASED RESOURCES IN CLINICAL PRACTICE

Synopsis:
This course will apply learned Web search skills to find high-quality Web resources that solve actual problems, e.g., diagnosis and treatment planning, researching dental products and assisting with practice management. In addition, the course will examine the issues related to using high-quality Web resources chairside during patient care (decision support and drug databases) and for practice management (vendor information, hiring and credentialing). Lastly, the course will focus on improving Web searching skills for professional and consumer health information and includes strategies for working toward more effective inclusion of Internet information in clinical practice.

1. Apply advanced Web search strategies
2. Evaluate and document a Web resource for an EHR
3. Learn how computers are used chairside
4. Learn specific administrative resources
5. Learn to evaluate quality and credibility

NOTE: This course will be held at the Parc 55 Hotel.
