Maxillofacial Trauma: A Comprehensive Review for the General Practitioner

Synopsis:
This presentation will provide an overview of the classification of maxillofacial fractures and the goals of fracture treatment. We will also discuss the factors involved in selecting fixation methods as well as the work-up for facial trauma and the use of diagnostic imaging in trauma treatment.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify various types of maxillofacial fractures
2. Discuss principles of rigid fixation
3. Review methods of treatment for dentoalveolar fractures
