Description
Autism awareness, research, and legislation are changing. Attend this special session if you are interested in the latest information within the field. Participants will learn about the opportunity that exists to collaborate with Autism Speaks (the nation's top private funder of autism research), advances in the field, ways to create real systems change within their schools or communities, and also discover the funding and research opportunities that exist within the world of autism. With prevalence rates as high as 1:150 children, it is imperative that school psychologists understand autism. Whether you are a new or experienced with the topic, information will be provided at all levels of interest. This Presidential Strand session is a collaborative effort between NASP and Division 16 of the American Psychological Association (APA).
